Luci is a stylish purse with a unique shape and eye-catching details! In this pattern, you’ll learn three easy techniques for adding zippers. You’ll also learn essential tips about sewing professional looking bags as you make this project.
Choose to add Chain Strap Connectors for extra “bling” or use rectangle rings. The finished size of this bag is 10” wide, 13” high, and 4” deep. The strap drop is about 14”.
Included are step-by-step graphics to help make the written directions easier to understand. Also included are many sewing techniques and tips to help you achieve a quality, finished project. This pattern is designed to help you learn and expand your sewing skills!
Try using our Faux Metal Zippers by the Yard for this project! Easily cut and sew through the zipper’s nylon teeth, while achieving the appearance of metal teeth. With these zippers you can make single or double slide zippers – which are both needed for this project!
Also, I suggest using a fabric that doesn’t fray for the contrast such as cork, EverSewn vinyl, kraft-tex, or leather because these materials add great structure to your bag! However, I’ve written the instructions so quilt cotton may be used for the contrast as well. I hope you’ll enjoy this pattern and learn something new!
A paper copy of this pattern will be mailed to you. The pattern includes instructions for how to make the Luci Bag.
Please refer to pattern cover pictured above for the material and supply list!
I’ve carefully calculated the yardage for this pattern so you’ll get the most out of your cork fabric or vinyl.
There is no hardware kit for this pattern because you only need a few pieces. Choose to add Chain Strap Connectors for extra “bling” or simply use 1/2″ rectangle rings. Each option is available in five colors: nickel, light gold, antique brass, gunmetal, and rose gold.
This pattern would not be possible without my wonderful group of pattern testers! I appreciate their hard work! Their samples are pictured above.
